Alcohol and Your Body

1-2 days. Rational functions model elimination of alcohol from the body. Students learn to interpret horizontal and vertical asymptotes in context. Intermediate algebra or precalculus. Has also been used in elementary calculus courses as a conceptual introduction to work with rational functions.
