The bulk of the photos were taken by the
present
writer, using an Olympus 460 digital camera; others have been supplied (as
indicated in particular cases) by Professors Patout Burns and Robert
Markus, to both of whom I am grateful in a hundred ways, but especially
for the use of these pictures. In every case, I have given thumbnail
images which, when clicked,
will lead either to a larger version of the same image or to a page with
multiple thumbnails. The images themselves are rather large (often
200+K) and I have left them that size to retain the image quality, but
viewers on slow dialup connections may wish to ration how many of the
enlarged images they have the patience to see. Questions, comments, and
suggestions welcome, most especially from other members of our band of
pilgrims.
