American Literature Association Conference on American Literature
The second annual conference of the American Literature Association will be held at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington D. C. on May 24-26, 1991.
Preregistration conference fees will be $30 (with a special rate of $10 for independent scholars, retired individuals, and students.) The hotel is offering a special conference rate of $60 a night.

American Women Writers of Color Conference
This three-day conference features 75 papers by scholars across the country. In addition, two evening lectures/discussions will feature noted writers Kristin Hunter, Amy Ling, Helena Viramontes, and Janet Hale speaking on the female voice in the literature of their cultures.
Registration information is available from the Dept. of English, Salisbury State University, at 301-546-3445. Registration fees are $70 for faculty and general public and $25 for students. Hotel reservations must be made with the Carousel Hotel at 301-524-1000.
