· NEW!!!! (10/19/2007) Thomas Brunell and Alec Stone Sweet have collected data on preliminary references and rulings (art.234), enforcement actions brought by the Commission against the Member States (art. 226), and judicial review of the legality of Community Acts (art. 230). The data is updated until 2006 and can be downloaded here. According to Thomas, the art. 226 and 230 data have not yet been used in any published research!
· (Their old dataset of preliminary references until 1998 can be downloaded here).
· Tanja Boerzel has made available data on compliance until 1998.
· Various datasets regarding public opinion of the court are available from Eurobarometer.
The ECJ publishes lists of case law, digests of decisions, and biographies of the judges. It has a nice electronic system for decisions after 1997. Various formal assessments of member state compliance can be found here.
Clifford Carrubba, Matthew Gabel, and Charles Hankla have an interesting working paper that uses some newly collected data to look at judicial behavior on the court. Joseph Jupille is working on a similar project..
