Biographical Sketch:

Jim Albrecht is a Professor of Economics at Georgetown University. He has a Masters in Statistics and a Ph.D. inEconomics from UC Berkeley. He has taught courses in statistics,microeconomics, labor economics and mathematics for economists at Georgetown. He regularlyspends time in Swedenas a visiting researcher.

His research is mostly in the general area of labor economics. He is doingtheoretical work on equilibrium search and matching models of unemployment andwage dispersion, and he is doing empirical work that applies quantileregression techniques to the  problem of decomposing differences betweendistributions, e.g., between male and female wage distributions.
